All gas consist of a very large number of minute particles, called molecules. 2. The gas molecules are extremely small in size and are separated by large distance. The actual volume of the gas molecules is thus negligible as compared to the total volume occupied by the gas. 3. The pressure exerted by the gas is due to the bombardment of the molecules on the walls of the vessel. 4. The gas molecules collide with one another and also with the walls of the vessels. Odisha Woman First in country to be awarded by IUPAC
Happiness bloosomed in the Titira village of Balikuda Block of Jagatsinghpur District of Odisha as Mrs. Jyotirmaye Mohanty of this village has been awrded by IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) in 2023.
Currently she works at Bhaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Mumbai, and has published many papers in international Journals like Journal of the American Chemical Society, who has been the first woman in the country to recieve this award by IUPAC.
She has also recieved fellowship of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), UK. She is the daughter of renowned Dr. Baikunthanath Patra of Cuttack and married to Rasmiranjan Mohanty who is also a scientist.
